Iconic park on historic Route 66. Oversized pond with large whale painted blue. Fishing allowed as "catch & release." Small gift shop, picnic area, & a couple of food trucks. View an Ark & Mushroom Garden.

One of Oklahoma's treasures. My oldest son loves to spend his time there. It's truly a blessing that it survives. And is taken so well care of. Forever loved.

Route 66 Attraction that is a great place to sit and have and eat a packed lunch. Has a park like setting. Make sure to bring some crackers or bread to feed the turtles in the pond.

The poor poor blue whale. It's sturdy and stable. But the poor outer shell of the whale is showing its age and neglect. Sure it gets a coat of paint every few years but that looked to be about all. The picnic tables and grounds area were maintained.and talking with one of the family members that was standing around inside the so called gift shop (lack thereof) she was saying that it's coming due for a paint job. And says the opening of the water park in Tulsa at 21st/Yale is what had happened to convince the family to of closed it back in 1988. And they really just keep it maintained for the thousands of people who know about it and come by and stop. But there is NO swimming in the pond anymore. And really who would want to swim in that green disgusting water. It could be a destination place once again with the right people who wanted to give local families a place to come to weekend after weekend. Add live entertainment, snack bar, camping, putt putt golf, paddle boat rentals. With a vision and desire to do something the whale could be rocking year after year for many years to come. Don't have money to start this vision look to investors, crowd funding, go fund me.

Great place to take your kids a lot of great stuff here to look at. The blue whale is adorable and it has some great photo opportunities. Also the fact it's on route 66 is pretty cool. You have to watch the kids around the lake but that is the only downside. Overall great family place.
